Once Stuck in the Rat Race, She Now Rocks a Life of Freedom and Giving!
There Has to Be Something More
Crissy Christensen was working in a grocery store outside of Las Vegas. She lived a simple life. She was content with spending her time boating on the lake with her husband.
However, deep inside her, she felt something was missing. “There was something within me that I knew there had to be more.” That’s when she first heard about network marketing. “We knew a friend from years ago who had been in network marketing for many, many years. He came out with a product of his own and asked us if we wanted to try it.”
Crissy remembered something Richard Branson once said: “If somebody offers you an amazing opportunity but you are not sure you can do it, say yes – then learn how to do it later!” with that in mind, She said yes and that’s when her journey started.
The first year and a half was full of fits and starts and she didn’t go far. “I knew it was a good thing but I didn’t really know how to do it.”
A Catalyst in Vegas
A big change happened when she was given the opportunity to attend a network marketing event in Las Vegas a little over a year ago. What she learned there solidified what was special about the industry.
She began to realize what a legitimate industry Network Marketing is. “This is a true industry. This is not a scam. This is a $180 billion industry. I think it’s like 10 fold what the NFL is!”
But she was touched by a deeper lesson she learned. “It’s really about serving others. That’s the biggest thing. Originally, I was looking at it only as a way to make money. And then my perspective shifted. The bigger picture now is knowing that this is an entity that gives the absolute best of what every single person has to offer.”
For Crissy, that means helping other people by building friendships. “I go forth with pure honesty and pure openness, knowing what I have and what I believe in. All I can do is present an opportunity to somebody and it’s up to them to decide if they are open to accepting it or not. If they aren’t, that’s okay! I know what life truly has to offer and I just want to share that with everyone.”
“THE BIG DIFFERENCE FOR ME IS THAT IT REALLY IS ABOUT PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE. MORE SO THAN ANYTHING I’VE SEEN IN OTHER INDUSTRIES.”
This changed Crissy’s attitude completely and she began to be successful. Her confidence has truly grown in the past few years. She explains, “There was a very specific moment. I was always questioning what I was doing before. I limited myself. I was always kind of unsure. But I hit this mark and it was like a wall just crumbled before me. I realized that I was the one putting limitations on myself.” She says lifting these limitations was one of the keys to her success.
“The big difference for me is that it really is about people helping people. More so than anything I’ve seen in other industries.”
A New Chapter Begins
Soon, she put her days in the grocery store behind her to work on the networking business full time. Now she has a lot more time on her hands, thanks to the incredible opportunities network marketing has offered her. “My biggest blessing was just the freedom of time. This last April I was able to go back to Colorado for a week and be with my granddaughter’s for their spring break, so they didn’t have to go back to day care. I was able to be there with them for that whole week and normally there would be no way I could do that in my previous a full-time job.”
“ONE OF THE BIGGEST REWARDS IS SEEING PEOPLE DISCOVER THERE IS SO MUCH MORE THEY CAN ACHIEVE IN THEIR LIVES.”
For Crissy, network marketing has offered her a second lease of life. She recommends this lifestyle to everyone she meets: “Any time I get to know someone I say, ‘I understand you’re doing this but have you ever thought about doing something more?’ One of the biggest rewards is seeing people discover there is so much more they can achieve in their lives.”
She continues, “The most important thing is to take that first step and get involved. Just stay with it and stay rooted. And you have to grow yourself to grow your business. So it does take time – it’s not a get rich quick scheme at all.”
“Just being rich in life isn’t the most important thing. It’s about how you can be of service to others. For me, that’s probably the most valuable thing. The richest commodity you can posses is being available to help the person next to you.”
